Terms of Service
Effective October 1, 2026
The plain-English rules for using WreckPilot. The most important one: WreckPilot gives you an estimate, not legal advice.
Using WreckPilot
These terms apply when you use wreckpilot.com or the WreckPilot app ("WreckPilot", "we"). By using WreckPilot you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
You must be 18 or older. A parent or guardian may use WreckPilot for a child who was injured.
WreckPilot is free. If we ever charge for something, we'll tell you the price before you agree to pay it.
Not a law firm, not legal advice
WreckPilot is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. Nothing on WreckPilot, including the estimate, the deadlines, the crash-severity reading and the AI assistant, is legal, medical or financial advice, and using WreckPilot does not create an attorney-client relationship with us or with anyone else.
The estimate is educational. It comes from a published formula (see our methodology) applied to what you tell us. It is not a prediction or a promise of what your case will settle for; real outcomes depend on facts, evidence, insurance and law that a calculator can't see.
Deadlines matter. Claims have strict time limits, and a claim against a government agency in California generally must be filed within 6 months. Our deadline dates are warnings, not legal calculations. Please confirm your deadlines with a licensed California attorney.
Connecting with law firms
If you choose to, you can ask us to share your case with law firms. This is optional and never needed for your estimate. How it works, and what each firm sees, is explained in the Privacy Policy.
- Law firms are independent. They, not WreckPilot, decide whether to take your case and are responsible for the legal services they provide. We don't endorse, rank or guarantee any lawyer.
- Before you hire a lawyer, you'll agree directly with that lawyer on their fee. We are not a party to that agreement and receive no part of any fee or settlement.
- Firms pay SavyCase, our case-management software, a subscription. No firm pays for any particular referral.
- WreckPilot is not a lawyer referral service certified by the State Bar of California.
- You can stop sharing your case at any time, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Your account and your information
Please give accurate information; the estimate and any lawyer's review depend on it. Keep your password private, and tell us through the request form if you think someone else used your account.
You keep ownership of everything you upload or write. You give us permission to store, process and display it only to run WreckPilot for you: calculating your estimate, keeping your records, and sharing with law firms when you ask us to. Upload only files you have the right to share.
The AI assistant
The AI assistant answers general questions about your estimate and the claims process. It can be wrong, and it is not a lawyer. Don't rely on it for decisions about your case, and don't type in medical record numbers, claim numbers or other identifiers. What you type is sent to our AI provider to write the reply.
Fair use
Please don't:
- submit false cases or other people's information without their permission;
- try to get into accounts, cases or data that aren't yours, or get around our security or rate limits;
- scrape, copy or reverse-engineer the service, its estimates or its data in bulk, or use them to build a competing product;
- upload malware or anything illegal.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. You can stop using WreckPilot and delete your account at any time.
Our content
WreckPilot's software, design, text and methods belong to us or our licensors. Comparable-case data comes from SetCalc (setcalc.com) under the CC BY 4.0 license; SetCalc does not endorse WreckPilot. You may share links to WreckPilot and your own results.
Warranties and liability
We work hard to keep WreckPilot accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" and can't promise it will be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, such as fitness for a particular purpose.
To the extent the law allows, WreckPilot is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you or a law firm make based on an estimate. Because the service is free, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to $100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under California law.
Disputes, changes and contact
California law governs these terms. If you have a problem, please tell us first through the request form so we can try to fix it. Any court case will be heard in the state or federal courts in California, unless the law gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for important changes we'll tell you on the site or by email before they apply. Continuing to use WreckPilot after that means you accept the new terms.
